Login

WR Time Tracker is a web service. Client points his or her browser to the system's URL (for example, to http://timetracker.wrconsulting.com) and works inside the browser. Here is how WR Time Tracker login screen looks like:

You need to fill in two fields: your e-mail (which serves as login name) and password. When password is forgotten the system can send it to you. To do this click on the forgot password? link.

The system distinguishes two types of logins: user and manager. The difference is that a manager can create additional user logins and administer users, projects, and acitivities. Additionally, the manager can generate cumulative reports. Regular users can work with the system by entering data and generate reports for themselves.

There may be many managers, each administering his or her own team. User's e-mail serves as a key to the system. There can be only one active user with a certain e-mail.

Creating a manager account

Work with the system begins with creating a manager account. Then the manager creates aditional logins for the team, if necessary. In a special case of a single user working with the system individually the procedure is the same. You need to create a manager account and use it. Here is how the form for creating manager accounts looks like:

If necessary, the manager can create additional logins for team members. You can do it on the people tab (button add new user).

When accounts are created manager and team members may login to to system.

Creating projects and activities

Manager can create projects using the projects tab. To add a new project use the add new project button. You can also edit or delete projects using edit and delete links in the project table.

Entering time

Time is entered on the my time tab. You must select a project and an activity. You also need to enter either duration of an activity, or start and finish times. Use the calendar on the right to move to another date. On the bottom of the form you'll see an editable list of entries for the day.

Working with reports

Manager can generate reports for the entire team (using the tab reports). To do this you need to select team members, time interval, and required columns to output information. Regular user can generate his or her own reports.

An example of a simple report is shown below. The system can send such reports via e-mail. To do this use the send this report via e-mail link. Specify the recipient's address on the form that'll appear and click on the send button.
